Make an Impact

Build deliberate onramps for the next generation of tech workers by partnering with Seneca Foundation.

We are looking for tech company partners.

For companies committed to a diverse and up-skilled workforce, we provide access to apprentice-level, Black and Latinx tech talent from local Chicago communities.

 Why Partner With Seneca?

Diversify Your Workforce

Seneca Foundation provides a unique diversity-talent pool for companies who want to immediately, consciously, and persistently work toward creating an equitable and inclusive technical workforce.

Retain Technical Talent

For companies who struggle with retaining diverse technical talent, our Tech Scholars can be trained on your company code language, prepared for the rigors of a professional environment, and have an established support structure and community in place.

Refresh Recruitment Strategies

Bypass the cost and time associated with traditional recruitment activities by hiring a Seneca Foundation Tech Scholar, and get access to talent already fully committed to the field and trained for an intern-level software development role.

Hire Seneca Tech Scholars

We partner with tech companies to identify job opportunities where our Tech Scholars can add business value as interns.

We offer you a personalized approach where we work together to prepare our Tech Scholars for meaningful work experiences that will support the progress of your new or ongoing software development projects. This approach ensures quick onboarding, seamless integration, and quality code output from our apprentices, who enter the workforce already familiar with your company code base and engineering practices.

For more information, contact our Executive Director, Dr. Johari Shuck.

Sponsor an Apprentice

By sponsoring a Seneca Foundation apprentice, you are making a direct impact on the Black and Latinx youth of the Chicagoland area.

With your sponsorship, we are able to give our apprentices a quality education in both technical training and professional development while providing them with the necessary resources

Not convinced?

Consider this.

12%

of the US workforce is made up of Black workers, but only 5% are software or web developers.

18%

in the case of Latino workers, and of these only 6% are software or web developers.

You can solve this problem.

“Since joining the Telekit team in February, the apprentices have become increasingly independent and have steadily taken on more complicated tasks.”
